Why Memin

Most tools, when they find nothing, invent something.

Memin measures, reports what it measured, and plainly states what it couldn't. This page isn't about features but about the rules the product follows when writing a finding — because whether you can stand behind the document you send a client depends on them.

Decision rules

Three rules, each born from a mistake

These weren't principles written at a design table. Each was put in place on the day the product said something wrong.

The median, not the mean

In a real scan the median of 16 competitors was 18 reviews while the business had 25 — it was ahead of 12 of them. The average, inflated by one chain's review count, said "you're 115 reviews behind". The same product gave two answers to the same question. Comparison was consolidated into one place and switched to the median.

Unmeasured is not the same as missing

When a field returns no data there are two possibilities: the field is genuinely empty, or it couldn't be reached at that moment. A tool that doesn't separate them counts every unreachable field as missing and manufactures a problem that isn't there. Memin doesn't score that field; it marks it "not measured" and states why.

Compared only against those ahead of you

Including businesses ranked below you in the comparison pool makes the gap look smaller than it is and leads you to underestimate the work. Memin compares only against businesses that appeared ABOVE you in the scan, applies a materiality threshold, and always shows the denominator: "15 of 18".

Promises

What we don't promise says more than what we do

The value of a measurement tool lies in what it refuses to say. These aren't marketing choices but rules inside the product — the report engine refuses to produce these sentences.

  • We don't guarantee rankings
  • We don't promise traffic, customer or revenue growth
  • We don't write anything into the report that we couldn't measure
  • We don't present differences below threshold as findings

Comparison

Where it differs from other tools

Our comparison pages also state where the rival is better. A page that lists only your own strengths isn't a comparison, it's an advert.

Don't take the claim — run your own scan.

Creating an account gives you starting credits. Scan your own business and see for yourself which sentences the report writes — and which it refuses to.
